At the heart of our journey is Simon Buxton, the driving force behind Banquo and a leader whose story is rooted in a genuine passion for making a difference.
With nearly 30 years of hands-on experience in the health and social care sector, Simon’s path to Banquo has been shaped by a lifelong commitment to care. What began as a weekend job during his engineering studies quickly revealed itself as a true calling. Within just a year, Simon rose to Senior Support Worker, became a Deputy Manager by 21, and achieved Registered Manager status by 24. By 28, he was successfully running his own domiciliary care business - an enterprise he led for over a decade.
Simon’s leadership journey continued to evolve, taking on senior roles including Area Director, Managing Director, and CEO for national care providers. More recently, he spent two years as an independent consultant, helping organisations across the UK improve quality, strategy, and service delivery.
His career is backed by a commitment to learning and excellence, with qualifications including:
NVQ Levels 2, 3, and 4
Registered Manager’s Award (now Level 5)
QCF Level 7 in Strategic Management and Leadership
MBA
Simon’s expertise spans across key areas such as:
Tendering for Local Authority contracts
Developing 24-hour care packages
Digitalising rota systems
Business strategy and service launches
Governance, risk management, and CQC compliance
Leadership development, coaching, and mentoring
Acquisition planning, audits, and mock inspections
At Banquo, we are setting out to deliver personalised, high-quality care services - blending compassion, innovation, and clinical excellence. With Simon’s leadership, we are confident that Banquo will not just meet expectations, but redefine them.
Welcome to Banquo. Welcome to better care.
